The Tropical Forest Goods and Ecosystem Services unit studies tropical forests asecosystems, but also the dependent societies, and the public policies, instruments or practices that concern these areas to better preserve them.

Fifty senior scientists and thirty PhD students make up the unit. Nearly a third of them are expatriates in the majority tropical forest countries of the world.
